For those in search of nature, the visit to the region is not complete without an activity that takes them to the discovery of the large natural heritage integrated into the Castro Verde Special Protection Area (SPA), particularly the steppe avifauna.
You should get to know the historical and cultural heritage by visiting the landmarks (archeological, religious, architectural, ethnographic) and the local craftspeople (and their authentic products), and also attend cultural events.
The region also offers the Alentejo’s typical gastronomy and a few characteristic products and delights as its delicious bread, its “enchidos” (cured sausages and meats as, for example, chorizo), honey, the famous roasted lamb’s head and the appetizing traditional pastry.
