Developed by LPN since 1993, The Sustainable Castro Verde Program’s goal is to promote the preservation of the cereal steppe of the plains of Castro Verde by integrating agricultural management, natural resources, nature conservation, scientific research, environmental education and ecotourism.

Considering that LPN is the owner of 6 estates in the region with a total of 1812 ha, the SCVP is the largest privately-owned area devoted to biodiversity conservation in Portugal, integrated into the Natura 2000 Network (European Network of Natural Areas under the supranational status of the Castro Verde Special Protection Area for Birds).
