In the middle of one of the most impressive landscapes in Portugal, the CEAVG – the Vale do Gonçalinho Center for Environmental Education – is located in Baixo Alentejo. It is a typical Alentejo “monte” house which underwent renovations while keeping its original structure and look.

Open to the public since the year 2000, the CEAVG has several interactive, recreational and educational materials, and carries out several activities along the year which promote visitors’ contact with the nature and serenity of Castro Verde cereal steppe.
